Volunteering with Utah Foster Care Foundationvolunteers at work

The Utah Foster Care Foundation relies on our amazing volunteers to support our work in serving Utah’s children.  We find, educate, and nurture families to meet the needs of children in foster care.  People who volunteer for the Utah Foster Care Foundation come from all walks of life. Some are completing school service learning projects, some are professionals looking to spend time working for a cause they love, some are stay at home moms or dads, and others are retirees. What they have in common is a desire to make a difference.

There are many ways to support programs that help bring more foster/adoptive families to children.  Our volunteers help organize Appreciation Events for foster families, help support the artists at The Chalk Art Festival, serve as volunteer committee chairpersons for the Chalk Art and Pumpkin Painting Festivals and help organize other special events, do office work, distribute information throughout your local community, coordinate donation drives, and dozens of other important jobs. Whatever your skills are, we can probably put them to good use.

What Can I do to help Utah Foster Care Foundation?

1.  Appreciation Event Support
Help us honor families who currently are making a difference in the lives of children in foster care.  UFCF hosts annual picnics, swim parties, and other family activities.

2. The Chalk Art Festival
Professional and amateur artists transform the streets of The Gateway into a gallery of large chalk art murals.  This event helps increase the awareness of the need for foster/adoptive families for children in Utah.

3. The Pumpkin Painting Festival
Help kids paint and decorate pumpkins, while parents get information on becoming foster/adoptive parents.

4. Help us spread the word about the need for foster homes in your community by distributing posters, flyers and brochures

5. Provide basic office support to our staff

6.  Help staff with publications such as our monthly newsletter, the Foster Roster

7.  Help staff arrange and conduct Cluster Group meetings.  Clusters are groups of foster/adoptive/kinship families that meet together on a monthly basis.  Clusters can help families obtain on-going training hours, meet other foster/adoptive/kinship families, arrange respite care, & provide fun family activities.
