Cash Donations and Grants
Families caring for children in foster care receive a stipend from the state to help cover children’s basic needs. Thanks to generous individuals and charitable organizations, the Utah Foster Care Foundation is able to provide those “extras” that enrich the everyday lives of children in foster care and the families who care for them. Donations and grants also go towards community outreach and equipment used to train families.
Some examples……..
- Wishing Well Fund – Families can apply to this fund for everything from special education services, vision and dental care to camps, prom dresses and senior class photos. To learn more about our Wishing Well fund please view our pdf.
- Recruiting Families – Word of mouth is important in attracting new foster/adoptive families. But it is not enough. Thanks to creative services donated by McCann Erickson, Kinara Advertising, we are able to produce high-quality marketing materials, as well as TV public service announcements. We depend on donations and grants to help distribute recruitment materials and keep these PSAs on the air.
- Educating Families – Our classes for current and prospective foster/adoptive parents are at the heart of what we do. Through charitable grants, the Utah Foster Care Foundation has been able to maintain and upgrade its training equipment and supplies.

- Foster Family Appreciation and Special Events – Each year, we let our foster/adoptive families know how much they are appreciated through picnics, family outings, Christmas Stores and other events. Our annual Chalk Art Festival celebrates Foster Dads of the Year on Fathers’ Day weekend in June. All of these events are made possible through donations.
